Recently, organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and the relevant departments of Chengyang District, a delegation from VDMA — the German Engineering Federation (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau) and the German Waste Management and Recycling Technology Association — visited North Star Recycling for an on-site inspection. The two sides held practical exchanges on circular-industry development, technological innovation and industry cooperation, fostering connectivity and shared growth in the China–Germany circular economy.
VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, the German Engineering Federation) is Europe’s largest industrial association, with over 3,600 member companies organized into 35 trade associations and headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. According to a VDMA report, in 2020 China surpassed Germany for the first time to become the world’s leading machinery exporter. VDMA positions itself as a service platform for its member companies, where they can leverage its extensive network to exchange views on a wide range of technical challenges, cross-industry issues and other topics.
The visiting delegation comprised more than 20 members, including executives and business heads from several German companies. Leaders from the Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and Chengyang District accompanied the visit, and Dr. Ge Linhan, General Manager of North Star Recycling, took part in the reception.
The visit was efficient, well-organized and substantive. First, the delegation toured the company showroom, where Dr. Ge gave a systematic introduction to North Star Recycling’s development history, core business, technological strengths, industrial layout and future plans, presenting a full picture of the company’s deep achievements and innovation capability in the circular economy.
Subsequently, the delegation went deep into the production workshop floor to observe the manufacturing processes and standardized operating model first-hand, gaining a close-up view of North Star Recycling’s application scenarios, production-control system and industrial-scale capability.
Toward the end of the visit, the two sides held discussions on core topics such as frontier trends in the circular industry and cross-border technology cooperation. Building on this on-site exchange, the delegation and our team engaged in in-depth dialogue, laying a solid foundation for subsequent two-way cooperation and resource matching.
This visit by the VDMA German circular-industry delegation marks an important opportunity for North Star Recycling to connect with the international community and open up to external exchange. Looking ahead, North Star Recycling will continue to build on its core circular-economy focus, deepen international industry exchanges, absorb advanced technologies and development philosophies, empower the high-quality development of the circular industry with its professional strength, and actively explore new opportunities and models for cross-border cooperation.
