Recently, a delegation from Alfa Laval, a global leader in fluid equipment and separation technology, visited North Star Advanced Recycling Technology (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. for a site tour and exchange. The two parties formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a joint lithium battery hydrometallurgical recycling solution, joining forces to pioneer an industry-leading new paradigm for battery resource circularization.
Alfa Laval provides professional products, services, and engineering solutions related to heat exchange, separation, and fluid handling for customers worldwide. Its technologies heat, cool, separate, and convey chemicals, petrochemical feedstocks, renewable energy, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals—supporting material purification and recovery, improving energy efficiency, optimizing water treatment, and reducing emissions.

During the visit, the Alfa Laval delegation and North Star Recycling held in-depth discussions on core topics including optimization of lithium battery hydrometallurgical recycling processes, specialized equipment, and low-carbon, zero-emission operations.

On this occasion, the signing ceremony for the MoU on the joint lithium battery hydrometallurgical recycling solution was officially held. Witnessed by executives and technical staff present, representatives of North Star Recycling and Alfa Laval signed the document on behalf of their respective companies, before shaking hands for a group photo that captured this important moment of strategic partnership.

Moving forward, the two parties will take this as a starting point to establish regular mechanisms for technical exchange, joint R&D, and project collaboration. They will continuously refine and iterate the joint lithium battery hydrometallurgical solution, leveraging complementary strengths and mutual empowerment. Through a more efficient, greener, and more economical closed-loop recycling model, they will inject strong momentum into the standardized and international development of China’s power battery recycling industry, jointly advance the dual-carbon goals, and write a new chapter in the global circular economy.
