Recently, the CLNB 2026 Asia Battery Materials Cooperation Forum, hosted by Shanghai Metals Market (SMM), successfully concluded at the Mondrian Seoul Itaewon Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. Set against the backdrop of the accelerating restructuring of the global lithium-ion battery supply chain, the forum focused on the coordinated development of the battery industries of China, South Korea and the wider Asia region. It brought together more than 300 Chinese and Korean corporate representatives in Seoul, including leading South Korean battery value-chain companies such as LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, SK On and POSCO, alongside a number of domestic new-energy enterprises, as well as institutional and government delegates from multiple countries, establishing a professional platform for efficient cross-border dialogue among global industry players. A tabletop exhibition area accompanied the forum, gathering Chinese and international companies from lithium battery equipment, upstream raw materials, battery recycling and supply-chain services, together with South Korean local governments and state-owned mineral-resource institutions — turning participation into immediate business matching and exposure into real customer acquisition.
As an exhibiting company in the battery recycling segment, North Star Recycling showcased its technological strength and complete solutions in the recycling of China’s end-of-life power batteries to partners across the South Korean and Asian value chains at the Seoul event.
South Korea boasts a mature and complete lithium battery industry cluster. As the installed base of power batteries continues to grow, demand keeps rising for the resource-recovery recycling of retired batteries and the supply of regenerated materials, creating an urgent, real-world need for safe and efficient lithium battery recycling technologies and compliant project-implementation models. Leveraging the forum’s international showcase, North Star Recycling held multiple rounds of pragmatic business discussions and technical exchanges with South Korean upstream and downstream battery companies and overseas industry customers, exchanging views on the local industry landscape, recycling policy and standards, adaptable project deployment, and supply-demand cooperation in recycled resources, to explore potential collaboration opportunities.
